The Garret Inn is ready to set all guests up with an itinerary to help them make the most of their stay.

Deep Creek Lake:

Deep Creek Lake is located in Garrett County, Maryland. Deep Creek Lake is Maryland’s largest freshwater lake with over 65 miles of shoreline. This is a four-season resort area: fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, biking and golf among others activities.

It is important to note that the Adventure Sports Center International is located in Deep Creek Lake. This center is one of the two in the U.S. and only twelve worldwide. This is an Olympic-style structured whitewater course and is a perfect for a family experience. The area also includes rock climbing/rappelling, mountain biking and hiking.

Temperatures drop (around mid to late November), the lake begins to freeze and the ice fishermen come out on the lake. The winter season also allows skiers and snowboards to come to enjoy Wisp Ski Resort. Or go snow tubing at Bear Claw Snow Tubing Park on its seven 800-foot long tubing lanes.

Surrounding Area:

With the surrounding state parks being between two to 12 miles away from the Garrett Inn, we are a great starting point to plan your weekend getaways, and adventures for every season. Our location is a mere two miles from Deep Creek Lake, with the boat ramp only four miles away for boaters and fishermen. We come highly recommended for those interested in hiking, bird watching, photography, golf, water skiing, wakeboarding, water sports, kayaking, and canoeing, fishing, and hunting. Fishing in the lakes includes walleye, perch, bass (large mouth and smallmouth bass). You can fly fish, trout fish and ice fish in the winter in the nearby streams. Hunting in the area includes games such as whitetail deer, black bear and turkey. Some large bucks have been taken down in the county and a couple has made the Boone and Crockett Club!

We are a leisure motorcyclist friendly motel for those seeking to take a summer drive, and exploration trip. In the winter we are always excited to host ski enthusiasts and snowboarders, that are eager to explore the Wisp Ski Resort, which is only 8 miles away. The Garrett Inn can happily provide guidance to scenic and unexplored backcountry roads.

The Garrett Inn is also close to several restaurants. If you’re looking for a home cooked meal then “Little Sandy’s”, a great home-styled food establishment located just next door, serves a delectable breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also Sorellee’s Pub and a convenience store for all your last minute needs located right across the road from the Inn.

If you are looking for something a little different the area has antique shops, a microbrewery and a winery that are not far away. We hope to see you soon, and help you to plan your next adventure.
